- September 3 – 36-year-old Dayssy Avalo is struck and killed as she attempts to cross Arlington Boulevard near Graham Road in Falls Church.[1]
- September 5 – 42-year-old Noera Ayaz fatally shoots her two sons, 11-year-old Tihami and 8-year-old Miraj, then commits suicide in the family home at 1088 Safa Street in Herndon.[2]
