Events that took place in Fairfax County in August, 2018:
- August 5 – 33-year-old Veronica Youngblood shoots her two daughters in her apartment at Post Tysons Corner in McLean, killing her younger child, 5-year-old Brooklynn, and fatally injuring her older daughter. The older daughter dies of her wounds on August 11.[1]
- August 13 – A toddler is killed when he falls from the balcony of a 24th-floor apartment in the Skyline Towers apartment complex in Baileys Crossroads.[2]
