Events that took place in Fairfax County in January, 2018:
- January 8 – 52-year-old Guido Maldonado is killed when he is crushed between a 2005 CAT Waste Handler and a tractor trailer at the Lorton Landfill in Lorton.[1]
- January 8 – 18-year-old Venus Romero Iraheta pleads guilty to murder for fatally stabbing 15-year-old Damaris A. Reyes Rivas in Springfield on January 8, 2017.[2]
- January 21 – 23-year-old Walther Rubio Valladarez unintentionally kills himself when he loses control of the Honda Civic he is driving and crashes into a tree in the 6700 block of Telegraph Road in Alexandria.[3]
- January 27 – 36-year-old Frege Adous unintentionally kills himself when he loses control of the 2014 Honda CR-V he is driving and crashes into a tree in the 8400 block of Alban Road in Springfield.[4]
- January 29 – 64-year-old Charles Petrello is killed in a house fire at 4105 Mount Echo Lane in Fairfax.[5]
