I-95 Landfill Complex

The I-95 Landfill Complex also known as the Lorton Landfill, is a giant dump in Lorton.

Negotiation for the landfill began in 1971, when officials of the Lorton Correctional Complex proposed dedicating 500 acres of the 3500 acre tract for that purpose.[1]

Incidents

On January 8, 2018, 52-year-old Guido Maldonado was killed when he was crushed between a 2005 CAT Waste Handler and a tractor trailer at the complex.[2]
