Susan Matthews

Susan Matthews was a 14-year-old student at Robert E. Lee High School who was beaten and mortally wounded with a baseball bat by her father, 41-year-old Joseph B. Matthews, who also mortally wounded her sister, Sharon and murdered her brother Steven in an attack at the family home at 6505 Highland Avenue on the morning of April 11, 1959.[1][2]

Susan was taken to the Alexandria Hospital, where she died of the injuries inflicted by her father.[1]
