Sharon Matthews

Sharon Matthews was a 13-year-old child who was beaten and mortally wounded with a baseball bat by her father, 41-year-old Joseph B. Matthews, who also mortally wounded her older sister Susan, and murdered Sharon's twin brother Steven, then committed suicide by slashing his own throat at the family home at 6505 Highland Street in Springfield on April 11, 1959.[1][2]

Sharon was taken to the Alexandria Hospital, where she died of the injuries inflicted upon her.[1]
