Percy H. Thornton

The Honorable Percy Haywood Thornton, Jr. (April 4, 1921 – May 4, 1991) was a judge of the 16th and 19th Circuit Courts and, following its creation, the 31st Circuit Court from 1968 to 1991.

In 1968, Thornton was elected to one of three new seats on the bench of the 16th Circuit Court, which at the time included Fairfax and Prince William Counties, as well as the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church.[1]
