Daniel V. Boring

Daniel Victor "Dan" Boring (b. August 19, 1946) was the chief of the Vienna Police Department from 1997 to 2001.

Boring worked for the Arlington County Police Department for 25 years, retiring as a deputy chief commanding the department's Criminal Investigations Division. Boring was appointed Chief of the Vienna Police Department by Town Manager John H. Schoeberlein and took command on March 24, 1997.[1]

On December 13, 2000, Boring submitted his resignation from the Vienna Police Department, effective February 9.[2]

After leaving VPD, Boring became the third chief of the Culpeper, Virginia police department in March 2001. Boring retired from CPD in 2006.

Boring continued his involvement with Culpeper Town Government, serving as interim town manager in 2008, interim director of environmental services in 2009, and was elected to the town council in 2010. He announced he would not seek reelection and resigned from the town council effective April 1, 2014.[3][4]
