Cathy Benner

Cathy Frossard Benner was the principal of Falls Church High School from 2008 to 2013.[1]

She began her education career in 1979 as a social studies teacher in Hopewell, Virginia.[2]

In 1984, she moved to Fauquier County schools, where she would remain until 1999.[1]

In 1999, Benner left the classroom to move into administration, first as the Secondary Curriculum Specialist and Social Studies Coordinator for Culpeper County Schools and then as assistant superintendent of Orange County Public Schools in 2001.[2]

Benner came to Fairfax County in 2003 when she was hired as a sub-school principal at Centreville High School, replacing assistant principal Holly Messinger, who had moved to Woodson High School.[3]

Following the retirement of Janice Lloyd in November 2007, Benner became the permanent principal of Falls Church High School on May 1, 2008.[4]

In 2013, Benner left FCHS to become the principal of Osbourn High School in the City of Manassas.[1]

On March 20, 2017, Benner was placed on paid administrative leave.[5]
