Arline H. Shifflett

Arline Hilda Shifflett was an 8-year-old girl that lived at Kenmore, near Vienna, and was killed by Fairfax County policeman Louis L. Finks when he ran her over with his police car on Leesburg Pike on May 23, 1930.[1][2]

Shifflett, a student at the Andrew Chapel School, had not wanted to attend school that day, telling a neighbor she "was afraid something would happen" and pleading with her mother to be allowed to stay home.[1]
