Events that took place in Fairfax County in September, 2008:
- September 13 – Barbara J. Bosworth is kidnapped by Keith Baskerville and Lutchman Chandler, two men from Woodbridge, from a parking garage at the Springfield Mall in Springfield. The two men drive Bosworth to Woodbridge, where she and Chandler are killed when the car crashes.[1]
- September 18 – The 1st Stage Theater opens in McLean.
