- August 8 – 15-year-old Cameron Dudley is killed in Centreville when the 1998 BMW he is riding in crashes into a tree and catches fire.[1][2]
- August 9 – 26-year-old Ryan A. Hoffa is killed when he loses control of his motorcycle and strikes a tree in Falls Church.[3]
