Samuel A. Coombs

Samuel Atwood Coombs (July 26, 1941 – January 2, 1983) was a D.C. police officer who was fatally injured when 32-year-old Cory F. McDaniel, III drunkenly crashed head-on into Coombs' car as he drove along Hooes Road in Springfield on December 29, 1982.[1][2]

Coombs was taken to the Commonwealth Doctors Hospital, where he died on January 2, 1983.[1]
