Jonathan O. Dyer

Jonathan O. Dyer (August 1, 1982 – November 20, 1982) was a 3½-month-old baby who was killed when his uncle, 22-year-old Thomas S. Jenkins, whacked out of his mind from reading the Bible and smoking PCP, picked up the sleeping baby and threw him into a ceiling light fixture in his bedroom at 7814 Thor Avenue in Annandale on November 20, 1982.[1][2][3]

Jonathan's battered body was found on the floor of his bedroom by his older brother. He was taken to the Fairfax Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.[2]

By way of explaining his actions, Jenkins told Jonathan's parents, "I killed the devil."[3]
