Events that took place in Fairfax County in December, 1965:
- December 10 – 22-year-old Carl D. Arms unintentionally kills himself in Centreville when he loses control of the car he is driving and crashes near the intersections of Lee Highway and Stringfellow Road. Arms is taken to the Fairfax Hospital, where he is pronounced dead.[1]
- December 13 – 2½-year-old Christopher Cantwell is beaten to death by his father, Army Sergeant Patrick Cantwell, in the family home at 4270 Allison Circle in Fairfax.[2][3]
- December 31 – 26-year-old Marie Louise Thiemann is fatally injured when 56-year-old tow truck driver Corbin T. Baker makes a left turn from the right lane on the northbound side of Shirley Highway in Lorton, striking the car she is riding in. Thiemann is taken to Dewitt Army Hospital on Fort Belvoir, where she dies about five hours later.[4][5]
- December 31 – While exploring a construction site on Forestville Road in McLean, 16-year-old Renah B. Rietzke is mortally injured when he misjudges a jump in the unfinished home and falls 12 feet into the basement. Rietzke is taken to the Arlington Hospital, where he dies about 2:00 a.m. the following morning.[6][7]
