Jonathan Sorah

Jonathan Sorah fatally shot his 24-year-old brother Joseph in the head with a .22 caliber rifle to settle a dispute at the family home at 2304 High Drive in Vienna on June 8, 1996. Joseph was taken to the Fairfax Hospital, where he died the following evening.[1]

Charged with first-degree murder, Jonathan claimed he had shot his brother to protect his mother, Annette, and was instead convicted of manslaughter on December 16, 1996.[2][3] Following the jury's recommendation, Judge M. Langhorne Keith sentenced Jonathan to 12 months in jail on January 24, 1997.[4]
