The Richard Byrd Library is a library in Springfield.

The library originally opened as a storefront library in the Springfield Post Office at 6614 Backlick Road on January 22, 1958.[1][2] In March 1965 the library moved to a permanent, purpose-built facility.[2]

The library closed on November 1, 2008 for renovations, and the 43-year-old building was gutted to the bare walls and rebuilt to a design by BeeryRio Architects + Interiors. While the library was being renovated, its collection was moved to the second floor of the Bank of America building at 6315 Backlick Road. The library reopened in 2010.
