Oak Grove Elementary School

The Oak Grove Elementary School was a segregated elementary school for black children in Herndon.

The school was the third to use the Oak Grove name, and opened in 1953. In addition to children from Herndon and Fairfax County, Loudoun County paid to have its black children educated there.[1]

On April 10, 1964, the Fairfax County School Board voted to close the school.[2]
