Leonard L. Whorton

Leonard L. Whorton was the Fairfax County Executive from 1976 to 1978.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved Whorton's appointment as county executive by a 7-2 vote at their June 21, 1976 meeting.[1]

After just over two years in the job, Whorton preemptively resigned under pressure from the BoS on October 23, 1978.[2]

Moving to California, Whorton became the county manager for Sonoma County, California.

Whorton was named assistant city manager for the city of Richmond, California in 1987.
