Fairfax County Executive

The Fairfax County Executive is the senior executive officer for Fairfax County and tasked with the day-to-day running of the county government. The position is an appointed one, and the county executive is chosen by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and serves at the pleasure of the board.

The first county executive was Carlton C. Massey, who was appointed by the BoS on January 1, 1952 and took office in March of that year.[1]

The current county executive is Bryan Hill, who was appointed on November 21, 2017, and took office on January 2, 2018.[2]
