John W. Dargle, Jr.

John Walter Dargle, Jr. was the Director of the Fairfax County Park Authority from 2008 to 2013.

Dargle graduated from high school in Columbus, Georgia.[1] He then attended West Georgia College before before attending the State University of New York at Cortland, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in recreation and leisure services.[1][2]

Dargle was named Director of the Leisure Services Department for the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County in Georgia on July 15, 2003, and began working there on August 5.[1]

On April 1, 2013, Dargle abruptly resigned from the FCPA, citing a desire to pursue other personal interests.[3][4]

These personal interests apparently included becoming the Director of some other parks and recreation system besides Fairfax County's. On September 5, 2013, Dargle was appointed Director of the Milwaukee County Parks, Recreation and Culture Department by Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele.[5]
