Fairfax County Public Schools Education Foundation

The Fairfax County Public Schools Education Foundation, also known as the Fairfax Education Foundation, was a foundation that provided classroom technology for Fairfax County Public Schools system.

The foundation was formed in 1983 and during its early years was focused on establishing the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology as well as making technology available for the FCPS system as a whole.

Unhappy with the FEF's focus on technology based projects, FCPS Superintendent Jack D. Dale resigned from the FEF's board of directors in 2009.[1]. The establishment of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce Public Schools Education Foundation in 2010 was the final nail in the coffin of the FEF, and it dissolved in 2011.[2]
