Debra E. Chiles

Debra E. Chiles (July 10, 1957 – May 23, 2007) was a 49-year-old woman who was killed in a fire in her home at 9207 Cardinal Forest Lane in the Gables at Gunston Corner neighborhood of Lorton on May 23, 2007.[1][2][3][4]

Chiles called 911 to report the fire in her townhouse, stating she was in a third floor bathroom. Despite arriving seven minutes after her call, firefighters did not reach the third floor for nine more minutes, and despite claiming to have searched the bathroom she was hiding in, did not rescue her.[4]

Ultimately, Chiles' asphyxiated corpse was discovered on the floor of the bathroom 40 minutes after the Fire and Rescue Department arrived.[4]
