David A. Masters

David A. Masters was a 52-year-old man who was shot and killed by Fairfax County Police Officer David Scott Ziants on Route 1 in the Huntington area of Alexandria on November 13, 2009[1].

Masters was shot by Officer Ziants when the Chevy Blazer Masters was driving began to roll away from the group of officers that had stopped him in connection with Master's earlier theft of flowers from a Mount Vernon business.[2] Officer Ziants stated that he thought Masters was reaching for a gun, but Masters was in fact unarmed.[1]
