Events that took place in Fairfax County in August, 1945:
- August 1 – Dr. Ford Swetnam is appointed county medical examiner by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.[1]
- August 24 - 48-year-old Lloyd S. Norborg and PFC Edward L. Kaas are killed in a head-on collision on the Lee Highway south of Centreville when Norborg loses control of his car and crashes into the Army truck in which Private Kaas was riding.[2]
