- September 1 – After catching John C. Vinson, Jr. peeping through the windows of the family house at 1317 Jefferson Avenue in Falls Church, 17-year-old honor student Lewis M. Goldfein is fatally shot by Vinson when Goldfein confronts him.[1][2]
