Penn Daw Plaza

Penn Daw Plaza
6226 North Kings Highway
Alexandria, VA 22303

Year Built: 1960

Size: 132,203 sq. ft.

The Penn Daw Plaza is a shopping center in Alexandria.

In 2009, Combined Properties applied to have the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan amended to allow them to redevelop the center.

The Shoppers Food Warehouse closed in April 2011, leaving the plaza without an anchor.[1]

In February 2013, the Penn Daw Associates Limited Partnership, which is Combined Associates' entity that actually owns the plaza, applied to the county to have the property rezoned, with the purpose of demolishing the plaza to build apartment buildings and townhouses.[2]
