The Martha Washington Library is a public library in Alexandria.

The library originally opened on April 26, 1954 at 601 Belle View Boulevard.[1] The library later operated as a storefront in the Belle View Shopping Center at 1620 Belle View Boulevard before it moved to its present location on Fort Hunt Road in 1969.

The library closed on December 20, 2008 for an extensive renovation and expansion.[2] It reopened in temporary quarters in the Krispy Korner shopping center in February of 2009.[2]

The renovated and expanded library was designed by Ritter-Norton Architects of Alexandria and built by Harvey-Cleary Builders.[3][4]
