Jason T. Baughman

Jason T. Baughman (May 31, 1977 - January 4, 1999) was a 21-year-old Woodbridge man who was mortally injured by 17-year-old Troy Wooten when Wooten struck Baughman in the head with a steel pipe in the Mount Vernon area Alexandria on January 2, 1999.[1][2]

Baughman had been driving in Mount Vernon when he spotted his ex-girlfriend sitting in a car with another man. Baughman grabbed a hammer, got out of his vehicle, and began beating on the other car. The incident was witnessed by Wooten, who decided to intervene in Baughman's dispute and struck Baughman with a pipe.[1]

Baughman was taken by helicopter to the Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he died of his injuries on the morning of January 4.[1]
