Events that took place in Fairfax County in January, 2016:
- January 9 – 73-year-old Jae Hyun Cho dies of injuries sustained during his suicide attempt following his murder of 56-year-old Kum Yeon in Annandale on December 21, 2015.[1][2]
- January 19 – Following a tip, detectives of the Fairfax County Police Department's Street Crimes Unit break up a prostitution ring operating out of an apartment at 1411 Northgate Square in the Northgate Square neigborhood of Reston. The FCPD arrests 33-year-old Michael Tillman and 26-year-old Jill Faustin, charging Tillman with pandering and maintaining a bawdy house and Faustin with prostitution and frequenting a bawdy house.[3]
