George Adams

George Adams was 33 years old when he fatally pistol-whipped 64-year-old Hyman Meyers during a botched robbery at Meyers' store in Oakton on July 30, 1964.

During a day of drinking, Adams and 32-year-old Baker J. Wooden planned the robbery with two other men, 30-year-old Freddie Gaskins and 23-year-old Theodore Boyd, all of Vienna.[1] Adams and Wooden entered the store, and Adams, armed with a pistol, demanded the store's cash, striking Meyers when he resisted.

Adams was arrested shortly thereafter, hiding in a nearby house.

Adams' first trial in November 1964 ended in a mistrial because one of the witnesses was drunk.[2]

Adams ended his second trial by pleading guilty on January 7, 1965, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison by Judge Arthur Sinclair.[3]
