Centreville

Centreville is an unincorporated town and census-designated place in western Fairfax County.

Originally known as Newgate in the 1760's, the town of Centerville was established in 1792, and became part of Fairfax County in 1798 when the boundary of Loudoun County was adjusted.

By 1840, the town was well-established, with 240 inhabitants, 40 houses and several businesses, including three stores.[1]
