William N. Tumarkin

William N. "Billy" Tumarkin (March 27, 1955 – September 17, 1980) was a 25-year-old man who was shot to death, along with his 33-year-old girlfriend Marian M. Sheets, in the bedroom of his rented house at 3708 Rose Lane in Annandale on September 17, 1980.[1][2]

Fairfax County Police speculated that Tumarkin was killed because of his involvement with motorcycle enthusiasts, but this was denied by his mother Loretta.[3][4]

Tumarkin was an Annandale High School dropout who worked part-time as a mechanic.

After the murders, one unnamed neighbor commented, "I'm honestly surprised it didn't happen sooner."[3]
