Suhail M. Ilyas

Suhail M. Ilyas was a 53-year-old man who fatally shot his sons Aaron and Zak, then committed suicide in the family's townhouse at 5506 Woodlawn Manor Court in Alexandria on the morning of June 18, 2002.[1][2]

Ilyas had married the boys' mother, the former Kathy L. Bond, in Texas on February 6, 1987.

He had moved to the Woodlawn Manor Court townhouse about a year and a half prior to the murders, and was the owner of the Super 7 convenience store, which he had bought from the estate of Surinder Sharma, who had been murdered in the store in April 2000.[1]

Ilyas is buried in the All Muslim Association of America Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
