Events that took place in Fairfax County in October, 1934:
- October 23 – A fire at their Franconia home kills 40-year-old Nellie Wise and her daughters, 19-year-old Beatrice and 12-year-old Frances. Fortunately, 43-year-old Philip J. Wise had had the forethought to insure the lives of his wife and daughters for a total of $1300 before the tragedy.[1][2]
