- March 27 – 19-year-old Carl J. Christensen unintentionally kills his best friend, 25-year-old Seung Paik, when he drunkenly turns his Mitsubishi Gallant into the path of a tractor-trailer truck at the intersection of Backlick and Edsall Roads in Springfield.[1][2]
