Kelly M. Scott

Kelly Maurice Scott was a 53-year-old prisoner from Herndon who died in his cell at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on September 3, 2016.[1]

Scott, who had been imprisoned since September 15, 2015 on a probation violation, was found unresponsive at about 6:40 a.m. Attempts to revive Scott, first by Sheriff's deputies and then paramedics, were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at 7:12 a.m.[1]

The medical examiner ruled that Scott died of abdominal inflammation caused by a perforated ulcer in his intestine, which was considered natural causes.[1]

Scott was the third inmate to die of natural causes at the ADC over the previous year.[1]
