Karen M. Benson

Karen Maureen Benson was a 15-year-old Groveton High School student who was strangled to death by her boyfriend, 17-year-old James L. Lathon, at his brother's Groveton house on September 24, 1980.[1]

Benson went missing from her mother's Hybla Valley apartment on September 23.[2] Her severely decomposed corpse was found about two months later, on November 23, by a 12-year-old boy who was playing with his dog in the gravel pits off of Japonica Street in Franconia.[3]
