Events that took place in Fairfax County in June, 2013:
- June 1 – 24-year-old Manuel Alejandro Jimenez Benitez drunkenly kills 29-year-old Norbert Sebok and 24-year-old Jozsef Szathmari in a head-on crash on the Fairfax County Parkway near Sugarland Valley Drive in Herndon.[1]
- June 17 – 36-year-old Anand Venkata fatally shoots his mother-in-law, 62-year-old Lakshmi Bhat, then turns the gun on himself and commits suicide in his 23rd floor apartment in the Skyline Towers at 5597 Seminary Road in Falls Church.[2][3]
- June 25 – 24-year-old Haseeb Raza is stabbed and mortally injured his 20-year-old brother Mohammad, who then shoots and mortally injures himself in the home at 4169 Travers Court in the Rockland Village neighborhood of Chantilly. Both men, as well as a 61-year-old family member who had been stabbed when he tried to intervene, were taken to local hospitals, where Haseeb dies that day and Mohammad dies two days later.[4]
- June 27 – Dr. Karen K. Garza is sworn in as the superintendent of the Fairfax County Public Schools system.[5]
- June 27 – The Board of Directors of the Reston Association votes to ban the use of electronic cigarettes on all property owned by the association.[6]
