J. Thomas Manger

J. Thomas "Tom" Manger, III was the Chief of the Fairfax County Police Department from 1998 to 2004.

Manger graduated from the University of Maryland in 1976 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice.[1]He joined the Fairfax County Police department the following year, in 1977.[1]

Manger became acting chief of the FCPD in July 1998, and was formally appointed to the position by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on January 10, 1999.[2]

In January 2004, Manger retired from the department to become Chief of the Montgomery County Police Department.[3]
