J. Howe Brown, Jr.

The Honorable James Howe Brown, Jr. was a judge on the Circuit Court from 1983 to 1999.

Early life and education

Brown graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1960 and from the University of Virginia with an LL.B in 1965.

Career

Brown was elected to the bench of the circuit court in 1983 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Lewis D. Morris.[1][2]

Personal

On September 3, 1960, Brown married Joan Griffith Gamble.[3] On March 4, 1967, Brown married Margaret Ellen Weakley.
