Commons of McLean

The Commons of McLean is an apartment complex in McLean.

Designed by architect Charles Goodman, it was originally built by the Westgate Corporation starting in 1966 as a rental complex of 549 garden apartments and 28 townhouses.[1]

In 2000, WEST*GROUP sold the 577-unit complex to Ralph S. Dweck for $73 million.[2]

A plan to redevelop the site as Anderson Park, replacing the mid-rise garden apartments with up to seven high-rise buildings, was approved in August 2013. Hoar Construction began the first of the new buildings, the Kingston, a two-tower building of 15 and 13 stories, in March 2015.[3]
