- August 2 – 21-year-old Timothy M. Ramberg kills 36-year-old Martha Griffith on West Ox Road near Waples Mill Road in Oakton when the truck he is driving crosses the center line and smashes head-on into Griffith's. Griffith is taken to the Fairfax Hospital, where she is pronounced dead.[1][2]
