Arthur N. Schneiderman

Arthur N. Schneiderman (November 21, 1955 – September 9, 1991) was a 35-year-old man who committed suicide by pouring gasoline over the second floor of his house at 4016 Javins Drive in Alexandria and setting it on fire on September 9, 1991.[1]

Schneiderman's self-immolation followed an argument with his 44-year-old wife Esther, who told him she intended to leave him. Schneiderman chased his wife and her 18-year-old daughter from the house with an axe, striking his wife on the shoulder and causing her to fall from the second floor.[1]
