William W. Crocker, IV

William Woodrow "Will" Crocker, IV was a 17-year-old Robinson Secondary School student from Fairfax Station who was beaten and shot in the head by as he lay face down in the street in the 7500 block of Dudrow Road in Springfield on July 31, 1993 by 19-year-old Rick E. Herring.[1]

Crocker was the member of a group of youths that had been cheated in a marijuana deal by Herring's group, which also included Frank D. Kelly and Elmer C. Bennefield and a separate pair, Kharim Kalid and Leon Peden. All three groups drove to the Dudrow road site, where Herring and Kalid beat and shot them.[2]
