William L. Peak

Colonel William Lee Peak (March 7, 1877 – June 16, 1939) was the superintendent of the Lorton Reformatory who died when he crashed his car into a parked gasoline truck on Route 1 near Fort Belvoir on June 16, 1939.[1]

He had formerly served as the Warden of the District of Columbia Jail from 1919 to 1933 and from 1908 to 1917 served at the Federal prison at Leavenworth, Kansas.[1]
