William F. Rolland, Jr.

William F. "Bud" Rolland, Jr. was a 19-year-old Annandale resident who was shot to death by 23-year-old Roger W. Whitney at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Sleepy Hollow Road on July 5, 1971 to settle a traffic dispute.[1]

Rolland's 41-year-old father, Lieutenant Commander William F. Rolland, Sr., was also shot to death shortly after his son. Rolland was returning with his father from a fireworks display with four of his siblings, his mother Virginia, and Timothy Justice, a neighbor's son.[1]
