Thomas E. Gallahue

The Honorable Thomas E. "Tom" Gallahue was a judge of the Fairfax County General District Court from 1998 to 2016.

In February 1996, Gallahue was one of six candidates considered for recommendation by the Fairfax County Bar Association. Without his knowledge, his friend, 42-year-old lawyer Robert W. O'Brien, stuffed the ballot box with 326 counterfeit ballots.[1] Despite being the winner of the remaining 729 ballots, O'Brien's shenanigans led to the selection of Lorraine Nordlund by the Virginia General Assembly.[2]

Gallahue was elected by the General Assembly in March 1998 to replace Judge Frank B. Perry, III, and sworn in on April 16.[3][4]
