Raymond D. Burke

Raymond David Burke, Jr. (July 26, 1925 – August 25, 1962) was a 37-year-old 7-Eleven manager from Fairfax who was fatally shot by his girlfriend Rebecca's ex-husband, 42-year-old Air Force Sergeant Victor A. Tatum, in the bedroom of her Falls Church apartment at 221 Leesburg Pike on August 26, 1962.[1][2]

Sergeant Tatum had hidden in a closet at his ex-wife's apartment and when she and Burke returned from a dinner date, he ambushed the pair, shooting Burke with a .38 caliber pistol before turning the gun on himself.[1]
