Mark A. Lawrence

Dr. Mark Allen Lawrence (December 9, 1939 – July 22, 2011) was a 71-year-old psychiatrist who was shot to death by 62-year-old Barbara Newman, who then committed suicide in his home office at 8612 Tebbs Lane in McLean on July 22, 2011.[1][2]

Lawrence was a 1961 graduate of Amherst College and took his MD from Harvard Medical School in 1965.[2][3] Although he had retired from clinical practice, Lawrence still saw some patients, including Newman, at his home office.[2]
